Why Use Natural Gas?
Natural gas--a colorless, shapeless, and odorless substance in its pure form, has grown to become a buzzword in today’s society of eco-conscious consumers. Why? Because natural gas is combustible, it gives off an enormous amount of energy when it’s burned—that is in turn used to heat our homes, cook our food and generate electricity. However, what really makes it special is that unlike other fossil fuels, natural gas is clean burning and emits lower levels of potentially harmful byproducts into the air, allowing users of natural gas to reduce their carbon footprint.
Natural Gas and the Environment
According to NaturalGas.org, “Coal is the cheapest fossil fuel for generating electricity; [however] it is also the dirtiest, releasing the highest levels of pollutants into the air. New technology has allowed natural gas to play an increasingly important role in the clean generation of electricity,” thereby lessening the environmental damage caused by energy consumption.
